In Spring 2010, I attained my teacher's licence for Kansas at Washburn University. Now, I've begun working
on a Masters Degree. Before that, I took over six years of English literature classes (part-time) as my family
moved
from Ohio to Illinois and
then to Kansas.
I have three children. My crazy teens are Matt - a soccer dude (sophomore at WRHS),
Anna - a cheer leader/gymnast eighth grader at WRMS, and Becca - a ballet dancer at 5th grade at Jay Shideler (all living at home in TOPEKA, YEAH).
I love pets and my husband of 25 years works for HILL's PET FOOD as a Marketing Research Director.
He helps to get information from vets and customers about why people might buy Science Diet pet foods.
We have a dog named Scooby, two cats named Chole and Mocha, and two birds named Polly and Mystery, a hamster named Glen,
and a Betta fish named Payton.
I am so glad to finally be living my dream of teaching Language Arts. I also like to help our drama coach with
speech team and plays. I substitute teach Sunday School at FBC.
Before I became a teacher and mom, I sold giant mid-range computers for IBM Corp. (in
the 1990's before personal computers, ack.) I am older than dirt.
I have also sold computer classes, worked as an announcer/actor at an amusement park, and audited merchandising displays
for VIDEO GAMES at WAL-MART, besides several years of substitute teaching.
I made this picture cool with a software program on www.picnik.com - I love family birthday parties! I think Facebook is a great way to connect with relatives and friends
in other states and share old pictures.
